Rasmus Lerdorf	76a2d2538c	Heads up! I have moved the headers_only and response_code checks out of SAPI and down into the individual SAPI modules. I have made the appropriate changes in all the SAPI modules, but please verify these. The reason for this change is that Apache sometimes will feed PHP a request_method of GET but have r->header_only set to true. This happens in an ErrorDocument redirect. In this same scenario we want to preserve the status code as well instead of just overwriting it with a 200 and losing this information. For now the other sapi modules act exactly as before since they probably do not make this distinction, and they may not even have a valid response code this early in the request. @ Fix HEAD request bug on an Apache ErrorDocument redirect and preserve @ the status code across the redirect as well. If gpc_globals is on, then session vars are decoded into global variables. If both are on, then globals and $HTTP_STATE_VARS contents are references to each other. The /decoder functions now just need to call php_set_session_var() this behavior. @ -Session vars are now decoded into $HTTP_STATE_VARS[] array and the @ globals, depending on track_vars and gpc_globals settings (Andrei) # Encoding source is currently only globals. Stig Bakken	2a854ca8b9	Generalized server-API build process on UNIX. Each SAPI implementation now has its own directory under sapi/, just like extensions have theirs under ext/. To make the final targets appear in the main dir, the top-level Makefile includes sapi/NN/Makefile.inc from the selected sapi backend. This is a plan Makefile stub without any autoconf substitutions. Each SAPI backend also has its own config.m4 like extensions (read at the end of diversion 2) and config.h.stub files. Each SAPI backend has to contain: config.m4: just like for extensions, this file contains autoconf/automake directives that end up in the configure script. The only difference is that the sapi config.m4 files are read in diversion (output block) 2 instead of 3. The sapi config.m4 files should set two variables: PHP_SAPI (which sapi backend to choose) and SAPI_TARGET (the name of the resulting library or program, previously BINNAME). If they are not specified, they will default to "cgi" and "php", respectively. Makefile.inc: has to exist, has to define "INSTALL_IT" to the command used to install the final target (or ":" for no operation). It also has to define a plain Makefile rule (without autoconf substitutions) to build $(SAPI_TARGET) Makefile.am: just what you think. Make sure your target is called "libphpsapi_NNN.a", where NNN is the value of PHP_SAPI. Some testing and fixing probably remains. To make everything hang together, I've done some ugly tricks that I can imagine causing some problems. I've built and run the CGI version and built the Apache DSO.	1999-09-27 16:34:28 +00:00

Basically: PHP_MINIT_FUNCTION(module) PHP_MSHUTDOWN_FUNCTION(module) PHP_RINIT_FUNCTION(module) PHP_RSHUTDOWN_FUNCTION(module) PHP_MINFO_FUNCTION(module) These will expand to proper function prototypes. Now to specify these in the module entry, use: PHP_MINIT(module) PHP_MSHUTDOWN(module) PHP_RINIT(module) PHP_RSHUTDOWN(module) PHP_MINFO(module) I've updated all modules in ext/standard and everything from ext/apache to ext/db. Examples on how to test: ./configure --with-xml static ./configure --with-xml=/opt static ./configure --with-xml=shared shared ./configure --with-xml=shared,/opt shared The difference between these two is that when the extension is shared, it is not merged into libphpext.a. The shared extension is currently always built. I can't find a way to do just one or the other with automake/libtool, if someone has a clever idea, please come forward. :-) "make install" installs the .so (as well as a lot of other cruft) in $prefix/lib/php.	1999-07-21 21:56:25 +00:00

Stig Bakken	257de2bade	First commit of re-structuring phase one. We have started using automake in sub-directories and started to move extension code into ext/<name>. For now, I have moved the "standard" extension (which is quite a mix of everything right now) and the GD extension into their own subdirs in ext/. The configure script now also runs configure in the libzend directory automatically and makes sure php4 and libzend use the same config.cache file. To avoid running configure in libzend, use the --no-recursion option. "make" in php4 also builds libzend now.
