9c876ea01a Add sapi_header_op interface which supersedes the sapi_add_header and _ex 
calls.

Revert the change to the sapi_add_header_ex interface.

Fix various bugs:

1.  header("HTTP/1.0 306 foo");
    header("Location: absolute-uri");

    did not work in combination with several SAPI modules, because
    http_status_line was never properly reset.  And thus, all SAPI
    modules which looked at http_status_line ignored the changed
    http_response_code.

2.  The CGI SAPI did not send out the HTTP status line at all, if
    http_status_line had not been set explicitly by calling
    header("HTTP/1.0 200 foo");

c8f1529d08 @GetImageSize now returns additional index 'MimeType' and new function 
@imagetype2mimetype to convert php imagetypes to mime-types. (Marcus)
#the reason why i export php_imagetype2mimetype is that i use that for
#exif, too. Followup example will explain why.

9743860d35 simplify handling of variables by maintaining two strings which 
are simply appended instead of traversing the hash table on each
URL/form.

also fix an unconditional segfault in rshutdown due to efree'ing
a static char *.

remove remove_var, add reset_vars.  move the function declarations
into the right header file.

a57381e3bd Fix couple of nasty serializer bugs: 
a) When array unserializer encounters less data than it expects (like:
a:1:{}) it crashes. I don't understand exactly why it does, but the fact
is it does. So now it should catch "}" and bail out.
b) When array/object data are serialized, the count is written by hash
count. However, it can be that in-loop check fails and less data than
expected will then be written into the array. Which, due to a), would
crash on unserialize. So now it will write empty entries in place of
entries it cannot serialize (the other choice would be make two passes on
the data, which I don't like).

b10b24d50c Always initialize wrappers, regardless of PG(allow_url_fopen). 
Add is_url field to wrapper structure; the stream wrapper openers
will disallow opening is is_url && !PG(allow_url_fopen).
Add infrastructure for stat($url) and opendir($url).
Tidy up/centralize code that locates and instantiates wrappers for the
various operations.
Implement opendir for plain files.
Make the PHP opendir and dir functions use the streams implementations.

42bd356be8 Use PHPWRITE to output data. Because this just outputs diagnostic 
information, a few spaces won't hurt (and multiple ones are rendered
as one by browsers anyway).  Micro-benchmarks which use phpinfo()
as a mean to generate output will yield more through-put now
(35 req/s vs. 83 req/s in tux).

82a8d372e5 Added ob_get_status() to get array of buffers and it's status. 
(DO NOT document this function yet)

Fixed crash bug with ob_end_*() function. ob_end_*() will not delete
buffers that may not be deleted.

php_start_ob_buffer() and php_ob_set_internal_handler() takes parameter for
if the buffer created may be deleted or not.

Added 3rd parameter "bool erase" to ob_start(). If FALSE, buffer may not be
deleted until script finshes.

Changed ob_*() function that have void return type to bool. All ob_*()
functions return TRUE for success, FALSE for failure.

f174bbc711 Use the zend_* versions of finite(), isinf(), and isnan(), as defined 
in php_config.h.  Redefine the zend_* versions in the case of Win32.

This fixes the build on systems that don't provide a native version of,

ca15b22212 New memcpy()-based wordwrap() implementation. The simple case 
(single-character break, no forced break) appears to be about 60%
faster, and there's simply no comparison for non-simple cases with
non-trivial amounts of text. The old algorithm was O(n^2) (with an
unfortunately large constant factor) because of the use of strncat(),
the new one is O(n). Added some more tests, too.
@ - Made wordwrap() significantly faster. (Jim)

f68b7c5f3e Fixed segfault in wordwrap() when wrapping to zero width and using 
multi-character break or trying to force cut (bug #12768, now fails
and issues a warning because forcing a zero-width cut doesn't make
sense). Also converted to new paramater-passing API and avoid making
an extra copy of the return values.

2c9f5d8a91 Modified array_walk, arsort, asort, krsort, ksort, rsort, shuffle, sort, 
uasort, uksort and usort.

Corrected prototype comments for all.

Converted to use zend_parse_parameters, except for the u.?sort functions.

Changed return values for failure from implicit NULL to explicit FALSE in
asort(), krsort(), and ksort().

Changed pval to zval in the u.?sort functions.

Added test to help ensure that fixes to code do not change function
behavior. Tests are quite large (~237k) but compress down to ~16k.
Please let me know if this is a problem!

12cfb76b65 Fixed the wrong logic in ini_get_all() function. 
Now it behaves same as how phpinfo() outputs the ini entries.

If there is a local value, then the global one is the 'original one' if
there is such. Otherwise global value is same as local. :)

twice as fast for a high number of elements.  2.80 seconds for the copy
of 1,000,000 elements and 1.39s for the reference version.  Need to chunk

9002e37e4e Always seed the LCG from the request-init hook, otherwise the seed 
would be shared among the threads which is quite pointless.  Also
use a function of the current time as one factor.

Use gettimeofday() instead of time(), because it is faster on some
operating systems.

0a143cf655 Add _php_math_zvaltobase and _php_math_basetozval 
This allows to use bindec, etc. functions to convert numbers longer
than fits in long, using floats instead.
Note: the functions like decbin still don't use the zval-ed functions,
so they work only on longs yet.

8c497f05c4 We don't consistently check for args passed to functions that don't 
take any args.  In some cases we probably want to skip the check for
performance reasons, but in other cases where performance is unlikely
to be a factor, not throwing a warning on the wrong number of args passed
to a function is at best inconsistent, and at worst it could hide a bug.
So, add a few such checks.  There are still lots of cases out there.

fd2c27c061 Enable using an external mailer under windows. 
1. this depends on the patch to fix tsrm I sent to dev
2. this provides backwards compatibility, as long as sendmail_path in the ini file is empty, the old internal mailer will be used, once sendmail_path is defined, the external sendmail program will be used.

I tested with indigomail from www.indigostar.com, which provides the same command line interface as sendmail no linux.

d6d59a9ee5 1. st_blksize might be different for regular files and symlinks; hence 
ignore differences in the twelfth element of the stat() array.

2. The 'test.file' is created by the script, thus the owner of the file
   is the user id executing the script.  A mode of 0654 does not grant
   the owner the right to execute the file and therefore, the correct
   output here is "not executable."

c58fdadc1f Couple of changes (and a little whitespace correction, sorry to mix :( 
1) Depreciate the call_user_method*() variety of functions, their
    functionality can be easily duplicated by using the call_user_func*()
    functions (using the array(&$obj, "method") syntax).

    2) Change some pval's to zval's.

    3) Improve the error handling mechanism of call_user_func*() to report
    an the class name and the function name if an object or class name is
    given.

3ffb8e3800 Nuke buffering from php_streams, move connect_nonb() from fsock.c to network.c 
and rename to php_connect_nonb().
Use php_connect_nonb() instead of connect() in php_hostconnect() -> timeouts
should now work in php_hostconnect().
sock streams abstraction now uses php_sockbuf as the "abstract" pointer.

531b8042ad We shoud not fseek in a pipe and this caused a problem with popen and 
fgets on the platforms where the buffer fix was applied (Solaris, FreeBSD).
Now the fseek is done only when the handle is of type fopen.

397c76d787 Fixed a compatibility problem is some file functions (fgets, fputs, fread, 
fwrite). The ANSI standard says that if a file is opened in read/write
mode, fseek() should be called before switching from reading to writing
and vice versa.

handle HEAD Requests as they were only detected via php_header(). but calling

6b84fb1cde fixed readfile() fd-leak. 
guys, always remember that every function that *generates output* could cause a
bailout if ignore_user_abort is set to false (and the user _aborts_ the
connection). in this case a longjump will be performed and our function (in
this case readfile) will have no chance to clean-up. having said that it's a
good idea to register all opened files using REGISTER_RESOURCE - that way the
engine will make sure they get closed on request end.

dbb3402c0f php_add_var_hash() uses sizeof(id) in the calls to zend_hash_*, implying 
that all bytes in the character array have been set (they are used
to compute the hash value using hashpjw).

The function assumes that sprintf's %p modifier would always prefix
the output with "0x".  On HPUX, this is not the case.  Hence, not
all bytes may be properly initialized before being read.

This has been addressed by using only initialized bytes as the key.

174253123e Rewrite php_str_to_str using the smart_str API. 
This removes much complexity from the function.

Speed is improved by pre-allocating memory instead of reallocating
the buffer each time the pattern is found.

a2dc8a2fa5 2nd Rewrite of the main scanner engine. This version is cleaner and faster. 
It handles the following tags currently:

<FRAME .. SRC=URL ..>
<INPUT .. TYPE=IMAGE SRC=URL ..>
<A     .. HREF=URL ..>
<AREA  .. HREF=URL ..>
<IMG   .. SRC=URL ..>

Additional ones can be added within seconds.

The support for HTML forms has been significantly improved. The scanner
will now add proper Hidden Fields for the Session ID.

cc53ad5166 Reduce the amount of copying in the mainloop. We copy tag/arg only, if we 
need to preserve them for a new loop iteration (after we leave mainloop).
Otherwise, we can just let them point to the work area.

6c4cb4c079 Security related updates: 
- Introduce php_open_temporary_file(), in place of tempnam().  Still
  needs testing under UNIX (mkstemp()), works reliably under Windows now.
- Reimplement the mechanism for unlinking uploaded files at the end of the request
  (was it ever tested?).  Files moved with move_uploaded_file() will not be unlink()'d
  again, to avoid (albeit very unlikely) race conditions.

e47d4fe249 - Increase buffers of output buffering to 40KB and 10KB increments which 
makes more sense when web pages are typically like 10KB-20KB.
  I think it would be best to change the reallocation algorithm at least to
  redoubling when it's full instead of incrementing and possibly use
  a data structure similar to Zend/zend_static_allocator which uses memory
  blocks and not realloc().

Took the old PHP 3 regression testing framework and rewrote it in PHP.
Should work on both Windows and UNIX, however I have not tested it on
Windows.  See tests/README for how to write tests.  Added the PHP 3
tests and converted most of them.

4604031b84 (PHP date) Added new 'O' format modifier for printing out the GMT Offset in 
the same manner as emails have in their Date: header.  The format
           is similar to [+-]HHMM of offset.
@- Added new 'O' format modifier that will output the GMT offset as "[+-]HHMM"
@  (eg: Pacific time is -0700).  This is useful for things such as Date: mail
@  headers.
#  Um, this should have existed LONG time ago...   much better than that gmt

6614e8edb4 - I wrote a long msg but the commit didn't go through. 
- So here is the short version:
- a) Start moving to binary opens in Windows
- b) Give checkuid_mode() a small face lift including the fopen-wrappers.c
- The mode to this function should at least be a #define but that is for
- another day. Anyway this whole stuff should be given more face lifts in
- the future.

2297f670b1 Change the serialization semantics to: 
* if a certain object is of class INCOMPLETE_CLASS, the serializer will
    lookup the previously stored original class name of that object, and
    use that class name to serialize the object.

Change the deserialization semantics to:

  * if the class of an object, which is to be instantiated, is not found
    in the current context, the class name will be stored for later
    retrieval, and the class of that object is changed to INCOMPLETE_CLASS.

All function calls, property gets, and property sets operating on an
object of class INCOMPLETE_CLASS cause the execution to halt and to
output an informative error message.

bc8d0782dd unserialize() and wddx_deserialize() now create an empty class if they enconter 
a class which's code is yet unknown. this makes sessionized data retain the

5673378ea6 - Allow all functions that receive user-defined function callbacks to accept 
an array that contains an object and a method name, in place of a function
  name, e.g. usort($array, array($obj, "ObjSort"))
(I checked the code in array.c and basic_functions.c, other code which uses
call_user_function() may still force the function_name argument to be of type
IS_STRING, which prevents this feature from working - and is no longer necessary)

0d9c0616f9 Use php_syslog() for system call. On OpenServer 5, syslog is defined to 
var_syslog/sys_syslog which causes various problems.

the function should offer a meaningful warning if it is not supported
instead of just beeing undefined

7182e722ca Need a PHPAPI version of basename for some stuff I am working on. 
Also fixed a bug along the way in the basename function.  If it
was fed something like "filename.ext/////" it would return the string
with all the slashes whereas if you fed it "/path/filename.ext////" it
would get it right.
@ Fixed basename() bug where "file.ext///" would not return the same
