d9f52fe0a7 First cut at standard way of making dynamically loadable extensions on UNIX. 
Examples on how to test:

 ./configure --with-xml              static
 ./configure --with-xml=/opt         static
 ./configure --with-xml=shared       shared
 ./configure --with-xml=shared,/opt  shared

The difference between these two is that when the extension is shared, it
is not merged into libphpext.a.  The shared extension is currently always
built.  I can't find a way to do just one or the other with automake/libtool,
if someone has a clever idea, please come forward. :-)

"make install" installs the .so (as well as a lot of other cruft) in
$prefix/lib/php.

43a466a076 Introduce AC_ADD_* macros 
The use of AC_EXPAND_PATH makes it possible to continue
to use relative paths when configuring PHP.
(e.g. --with-apache=../apache-1.3.x works again)

117a2fba07 * fixed some #if/#ifdef issues 
* hand-patched in php3 changes from 3.0.6 to HEAD in these files:
   fopen-wrappers.[ch] ext/standard/file.[ch] ext/standard/fsock.[ch]
   ext/standard/php3_string.h ext/standard/string.c
* added some new file/socket macros for more readable code:
   FP_FGETS(buf,len,sock,fp,issock)
   FP_FREAD(buf,len,sock,fp,issock)
   FP_FEOF(sock,fp,issock)
   FP_FGETC(sock,fp,issock)

941bdd57a3 - fix APXS VPATH build 
- libzend/TSRM build in their own directories
- ext/Makefile was generated twice

****NOTE******

If you use any kind of VPATH, you need to do a "make distclean" in your
libzend/TSRM directory, before running configure again.

0b77132507 * Get Apache to work. POST doesn't work yet. 
* There are now -I directives for the absolute path of php4, php4/libzend and the builddir for
  the Apache module, so we can #include any php/Zend header.
* Rename config.h to php_config.h

c4442ed7c5 Ok, this beast compiles via --with-apxs 
Not sure if it actually works yet though.  I have a feeling there are
some -fpic flags missing in the libzend build.  Will test later on
today.

2c0ad3ee25 last bunch of extensions moving to ext/ 
fhttpd module taken out of functions, functions is ready to go.
The only extensions I have tested are gd+freetype and odbc(solid).
Please try compiling in your favourite extensions and let me know how it
works.
